First teaser trailer for the Hunger Games revealed

By Sloan Kyler — Looking for a new series to obsess over? Look no further! What’s better than an evil dictatorship, a gladiator-like death match, and a 16-year-old forced to become a lethal killer? Nothing, and the exciting trilogy series of The Hunger Games combines all three.

For the fans of the book series, The Hunger Games, the wait for a movie version is finally coming to an end. The first teaser trailer was finally released during the recent MTV VMA show.

For anyone who has been living under a rock, The Hunger Games is a best-selling book series by Suzanne Collins about a future post-apocalyptic civilization, where most of the citizens are poor, hungry, and live in fear of their powerful government. Once every year, 24 teenagers are selected to fight for food, glory, and survival.

Sound epic? Well, after seeing the cliff-hanger of a first trailer, the wait for spring of 2012 is going to be nearly unbearable.  And after taking a look at the cast list, I’m practically drooling with excitement.

I have to give props to the casting director: he did a perfect job. Jennifer Lawrence, who recently starred in X-Men: First Class is playing the lead protagonist Katniss Everdeen. As for the leading male role, well-known actor Josh Hutcherson is filling up the role.  Rock musician Lenny Kravitz is playing the provocative Cinna.
