Alright, we can all agree that Brown and pink labubus are not Halloween costumes. This is a regular, every day outfit that you can buy at Walmart.
Halloween costumes are fun outfits to dress up in, but in the past few years, Halloween costumes have been slowly getting more and more unoriginal to the point where we’re just wearing regular clothes. So let’s take a look at some creative ideas for people to try this spooky season.
Witches, pirates and ghosts are all better options than a brown Labubu, but let’s be honest. Those are pretty basic costumes, and there are definitely better options out there. Think about your favorite character, maybe they would be fun to dress up as. Or in the good old-fashioned Halloween spirit, Nightmare Before Christmas is always fun. Especially if you’re a couple, even better if you have a dog.
There are so many TV shows and movies with awesome characters to dress up as. Squid Games, Attack on Titan, Mean Girls, Hamilton, Disenchanted, the list is endless. Or, if you are completely stumped and out of ideas, one person you can always go to is freshman English teacher Jessica Rockich, who is schoolwide famous for her amazing costumes and spirit day outfits. One of her favorite costumes is one where she dressed up as an old man for Halloween.
“People didn’t even recognize me because I looked like an old man instead of a young woman,” Rockich said.
Some of her other favorite costumes she’s done were a Minion, a zombie bride and Wednesday Addams (the classic, not the new one).
Another great source for some fun and awesome Halloween costumes is senior Ludovica Puccini. One of her great costumes was Carrie from the novel and classic 1976 horror movie, which is definitely one not done often. Nothing else screams Halloween Spirit like a bloody prom queen at a Halloween Party.
Do not worry if none of these ideas really seems appealing to you. If you are ever in need of a last-minute costume to wow everyone, please don’t go to Five Minute Crafts. Pinterest will never let you down. A platform of creativity with thousands of different and creative Halloween outfits, you can find anything and everything on there. And when I say anything, I mean anything. A Gucci flip flop. Two Twinkies. A Furby in high heels. If that sort of thing is what people are into, then go wild. Pinterest will never let one down, no matter how weird they want their costume to be.
Halloween is supposed to be a fun holiday full of creativity and amazing costumes. Whether one goes as a fairy, Art the Clown, or a Gucci flip flop, it is a time to dress up and have fun. So dress up, (not in a t-shirt and skirt that doesn’t count) to trick or treating, go to a party, and most importantly, BE CREATIVE! Happy Halloween!
