Senior business class creates Junior Achievement companies
Product: Plant kit: Terracotta pot, two paint brushes, soil and soil topper, and three seeds.
Inspiration for product: Students realized people are on their phones too much, and wanted to help people get outside more.
What they have learned: “I just learned to keep track of everything. Once you get off track, then you’re really off track, and the money’s the most important thing. You don’t know where your money is, then that’s bad,” senior Aubreyona Carnahan said.
Product: A gift box with 10 letters meant for occasions such as when you are sad or missing someone. Buyers write on the letters and give them to someone
Inspiration for product: The group realized that there’s lots of kids going off to college, people in the military, and long-distance relationships. They realized their company could help people when they miss a relative or friend
What they have learned: “How to manage money, because right now, I mean, we’re still, like, figuring that out, because some things take priority over other things, so I’ve had to really figure out, like, what to focus on over other stuff,” senior Jonah Dunnivan said.
Product: A kindness journal with over 90 interactive acts of kindness.
Inspiration for product: Two girls in the group, Jolene Wakeley and Lily Sims, came up with it while at church.
What they have learned: “Keeping track of finances is very important. We need that to know about our sales, and we have sponsorships, and expenses, company expenses, and there’s so much more just to the finances that I can’t think of off the top of my head,” senior Henry Kocher said.
Product: Love Local offers different products and coupons from different local businesses to try and support them.
Inspiration for product: The group came up with the idea by looking at statistics and seeing that local businesses sometimes struggle to attract new clients.
What they have learned: “I think the biggest challenge for us was finding the right businesses to reach out to to get involved with our basket,” senior Ava Steepleton said.

Product: A card game that encourages people to learn more about the environment and what they can do to help it.
Inspiration for product: The group came up with it by noticing that people were not helping out the environment a lot, and they wanted to try and help out with that.
What they have learned:“I would just say workload, because sometimes I’ll have to leave class and go home and finish what I was working on. So it’s just time management, workload, and just being organized,” senior Nicco Codispoti said.
