How do I join The Eagles News Staff?
All students are welcome to sign up for news staff after their freshman year. Sign up at the Home Access Center during scheduling. It is labeled underneath English electives.
What can I expect to do for the The Eagle News Staff?
Students who participate in news staff are expected to write stories, take photographs, and participate in social media.
Who is our target audience when we post these stories?
Our target audience is all the students and staff of GlenOak High School.
I want a story taken down? How do I ask for that?
The staff members of The Eagle work under journalistic standards. Once a story is up on our platforms, it remains as such. If there is a compelling journalistic or ethical reason the story should be taken down please contact The Eagle Adviser, Angela Spano. Examples of violation of standards are libelous, slander, copyright, or potential harm to a group, or individual.
I found an error, who do I report it to?
We try to check over every story before we publish it. However, sometimes some things can slip by us. In order to inform us of an error get into contact with The Eagle Adviser, Angela Spano.
Are there print issues?
Yes, we still print a news magazine called “The Eagle.” It costs $1. The Eagle comes out three times a year, late October, December and the first week of May. If you are interested in subscribing please reach out to The Eagle Adviser Angela Spano
How long has journalism been at GOHS?
GlenOak High School has only existed for 50 years, and since the original incarnation of the high school there has been a news presence here. However, the first newspaper in Plain Local Schools, dates all the way back to 1931. Click here for a complete list for advisers, and editors!
